Why can’t it just be the LGBTQ community why do we need to separate it by race. Isn’t the point of our fight to come together as a community now within our own fight we are separating from each other. If this is the case we won’t win.

ok correct me if I’m wrong here but black members of the queer community are constantly erased and looked over. It’s so incredibly rare to see any kind of representation of queer POC in the media or just in the community itself. That plus the amount of racism within the queer community is why a flag like this has to exist in the first place. Creating another flag for a specific group within the community isn’t separating from each other, it’s acknowledging that there’s more than just one kind of person we need to be fighting for. 

also stonewall (you know, that thing that happened that sort of started the ‘‘modern’‘ lgbtq movement) was started by black bisexual trans women and the was co-opted by middle class white gay men who fought even against the inclusion of lesbians in their communities

and to this day trans women of colour have murder and assault rates higher than white trans women

that’s kind of why we need to ‘‘separate it by race’‘
